Joseph dreams of becoming a doctor because he wants to cure all patients.
Joseph lives with his mother, big brother Simon, older sister, and little brother. He completed 4th grade before dropping out of school due to extreme poverty. His father passed away when he was a baby. Joseph often talks about how he made the mistake of leaving his mother to live on the streets but then he found MindLeaps where he learned why it is important to return home.
The following is a story Joseph wrote about what MindLeaps means to him (translated from Kinyarwanda): “Some time ago, MindLeaps came to Rwanda so we joined MindLeaps. At MindLeaps we like to learn dance, IT and English. They teach us dance, which helps us to be flexible and it helps us to be wise and they help us to look forward to our future. They also advise us to go back home. And they love us so much. We also play football. We also read and write which helps us to communicate when we have a problem and they love us so so so so much! Thank you MindLeaps.”
