10-year-old Mumina first heard about MindLeaps from a friend who said they were recruiting new kids in Nyakabanda. Before MindLeaps, Mumina got kicked out of school because he was unable to pay his school fees. While at home, meals were very difficult to come by because his father was not around, and his mother struggled to make money working informally as a cleaner. The family also had to move around when they were unable to pay rent. Despite these struggles, Mumina is now very happy to be sponsored to go to school, be guaranteed a good meal every day, and have additional funds to buy books!

Mumina is being sponsored in school by the Social Justice Club at Carmel Catholic High School.
